Chow Chows I am grateful to all the exhibitors who entered under me at this prestigious show, I really enjoyed this appointment. Before I write on each individual dog, I would just like to make a few overall general comments. I found pigmentation lacking in some exhibits & this is one of the breed points that makes a Chow a Chow. I can forgive tooth marks & in some bitches the lightening of pigmentation goes with the seasons, but on a red at least a black line should appear on the gums. Blues & fawns should also be well pigmented, although some dilution can be forgiven but never pink. So be careful, please, when you are breeding & choosing whom to mate to who. The majority of the exhibits had good clean dark eyes & I found very little to comment on in this area. I was astounded & pleased at the number of overseas exhibits when I looked at the results later. I am heartened for the breed with some of the youngsters coming through. VD (5) 1 Kirby & Lamb’s Ch Hiswin Star Magellan, one I have judged before & awarded a CC, a worthy champion. Although on the smaller side of the Standard, he excels in many of the breed points. He is now 7½ years & he has matured well. Small thick ears, flat skull, beautiful expression, correct pigmentation, steady mover; 2 Lindsay’s Jdlindchow Chang Peng, 8 years dark red, bigger than 1 but not as balanced. Different head type. Clean dark eyes, good pigment, good rib, longer coupled but well bodied. Not as positive on the move as 1; 3 Lovell’s Sherae I’m A Starfighter at Pamlor. Sp PD (4) 1 King’s Kesals Jetson at Kweichow, good sized red of 11 months, excelled in bone & substance, clean dark eyes, flat skull, thick well placed ears which he did not use to his advantage. What a difference to his expression when it all came together. Ribs & body good, short coupled, high tail set. Saw flashes of good movement but this was not consistent as he pulled & gave his handler a hard time. Needs to settle on the move, very erratic. Not sure who needs the training but some work needs to be done. Liked his type; 2 Ramshaw & Todd’s Shetani Simbas Brucie Bonus, liked his head type, 10 months shaded red, clean dark eyes, flat skull, good sized. Moved well in rear, but his front let him down; 3 Thurlow & Vincent’s Ajollon Armani. Sp JD (4) This was a difficult class to judge with four very nice exhibits all of which could have won the class on a different day. 1 Taylor’s Cladev’s Starstruck with Taylorien, this one won on head type & balance, I have seen him at other shows & admired him from the ringside & I was not disappointed on getting my hands on him. When his coat clears he will be a dark self red not seen very often these days & a colour which is a favourite of mine. Not the biggest & the lower side of the Standard, but what ring presence. Small thick ears, clean dark eyes & correct pigmentation, good bone, catlike feet, high tail set. Did move well when his owner slowed down with him, moving him too fast causes his movement to become erratic. I see a promising future for this youngster; 2 Squire’s Ch Kwaitang Kristian at Kyong, very unlucky to meet 1 & the result could have gone either way, a worthy champion. Upstanding, good sized & impressive, clean dark eyes, good pigment, flat skull, good reach of neck, steady correct mover back & front. Just needs to mature on a little & more coat will complete the picture. Well presented & well handled. Just preferred the head type of my winner. Another with a good future; 3 Brown’s Kwaitang Kansas. YD (6) 1 Vekovischeva’s Bon Triumph Rolex, wow, what a class this was. Could have taken this cream boy home with me, loved everything about him, beautiful head which was masculine but not overdone. His owner persisted in stringing him up with the lead & this tended to detract from him. Once the lead was dropped it opened up his head & showed his clean, dark eyes. Strength in muzzle but not overdone, thick well placed ears, flat skull, well padded muzzle, good reach of neck which he used to advantage, very well put together, short coupled, excellent tailset, excelled in bone, what a showman standing & on the move, moved so well it was a pleasure to watch him. CC & very nearly my BOB, but my bitch CC winner was more mature. Very close decision; 2 Southgate’s Santicana Smokin Joe, very nice dog, excellent blue colour & well off for coat probably a little more than he needs. Appealing head not overdone but with a well padded muzzle, clean dark eyes, good pigment, small thick ears, excellent bone back & front, catlike feet, good tailset, good rear movement; 3 Hedengran’s Long Feng Captain Jack Sparrow. PGD (8) 1 S Smokin Joe; 2 Fisher’s Poppykins Smooth Criminal, what a diversity of types in the class & this dog won his place on his movement. Good front & rear, pleasing head but not as masculine as 1. Clean dark eyes, good pigment, nice expression, excellent reach of neck, well put together. He could have a little more body & coat; 3Martin’s Mistyholly Galileo at Foillan. LD (8) 1 Richards’ Maixing L’Unico E Sol at Charids, good sized red dog just coming into maturity, very nice head type, no exaggeration in anyway, very appealing, very well presented by his owner, clean dark eyes, just enough padding on his muzzle, flat skull & good ear placement, ears small & thick, good rib & fairly short coupled, the best of legs & feet, width back & front, moved well; 2 Douse’s Norskov’s Foni Balloni at Shasadee, black male slightly smaller than 1 & stronger in head, a totally different type. Well padded muzzle & clean dark eyes. Preferred the eye shape on 1. Good pigment, well placed thick ears & flat skull, good rib, well boned, steady mover. I think he is between coats at the moment & this is always difficult for a black. Would like to see him when in full bloom; 3 Mette’s Orinell’s It’s a Knockout. OD (7) 1 Andrew’s Maychow Buddy Holly, lovely self red dog now 5 years & I believe coming into his best, Chows are slow to mature & particular one of this type. Love his colour, no exaggeration at all but nice to go over & I think that is the key to this type they need hands on to appreciate the qualities. Good flat skull, thick ears placed correctly, clean dark eyes, just enough padding on the muzzle, good pigment, well ribbed, good bone & body, moved well back & front. My only criticism would be that his owner does not seem to get the best out of him when showing, where is the sparkle? In the unbeaten dog line-up he did deserve the RCC & I was pleased to award this to him; 2 Green’s Ch Jamarhys Yoan, one I have admired from the ringside & a worthy champion. Another of quality & type, showed well, steady mover, straight back & front, clean dark eyes, flat skull, small thick ears. Being critical, would like a little more reach of neck to complete the overall picture; 3 Cedric’s Int/Fr/Lux/Sp/Pt/Ch Dragster Des Oursons De Petit Palais. VB (4) 1 Ridings’ Ch/Ir Ch Mactykes American Beauty at Komatsu. 10 years & still showed like she has always done, she is a credit to the breed. I am sure I can add very little to all the critiques written about her over her illustrious show career. Her owner informed me after judging that this was American Beauty’s last show & she is now retired. A long & happy retirement to her; 2 Mumford’s Shardan Miss Millie of Chowawen, 7 years very feminine red bitch, nice type, in excellent coat, steady mover, attentive to her owner & showed very well. Had quite a bit of life in her & appeared to enjoy her outing; 3 Cannon’s Miketilla Motion Pictures. Sp PB (4) 1 Hollies & Carr’s Copan’s Cherub at Tashi, eyecatching cream puppy now 11 months & maturing nicely, stood foursquare, very attentive to her handler, good legs & feet, clean dark eyes & good pigment for a cream, liked her muzzle, enough padding without being overdone, lovely expression. Hope she grows on a bit more. Moved & showed very well, very well presented. BP; 2 Humphries’ Kesals Ebony Eyes, very nice black puppy also 11 months, liked her outline & bone, good ear placement, flat skull, clean dark eyes, liked her head & expression. Coat clearing at the moment, it is difficult with blacks. Movement a little erratic, but gave her the benefit; 3 Williams’ Ajollan Adorabubble at Yontan. Sp JB (7) 1 Vekovischeva’s Bon Triumph Tiffany, what you see is what you get with this one. Very out of coat but I loved her style & outline. Very nice to go over & excelled in many points in particular her lovely head which had some strength but not overdone at all, clean dark eyes, good mouth & pigmentation, excellent reach of neck more noticeable because of the lack of coat, good bone, correct tailset, moved very well back & front. Wished she had been in full coat; 2 Humphries’ Kesals Anna, unlucky to meet 1. Compact light shaded red of 11 months. Not as mature as 1 who is nearly 18 months. Moved well, very nice head with small thick ears, clean dark eyes, flat skull, good rib, short coupled; 3 Rump’s Shegio-Chen Christmas Girl at Emjacques. YB (5) 1 Blight’s Rosechow Ayla, light shaded red, very out of coat at the moment but so many good attributes I ignored this. Very nice expression, so feminine, small thick ears, overall a lovely head, clean dark eyes, good reach of neck, good rib, short coupled, tail set well, nice catlike feet, short hocks, moved well & steadily. Would love to see her in full bloom; 2 Sweeney’s Chowetha Million Memories, different type to 1, not as feminine in expression. In better coat but shorter & denser. Clean dark eyes & flat skull, very good pigment. Longer in hock & not so definite in movement on the rearend. Very well presented & showed really well for her handler; 3 Barnes’ Shasadee Fifi La Femme. PGB (4) 1 Fisher’s Poppykins Babe, red bitch in reasonable coat, very compact & together in body, clean dark eyes, small thick ears, very good pigmentation, moved well & with purpose, sweet feminine expression; 2 Potts’ Akakuro Red Red Rose, totally different type to 1, heavier in head with a well padded muzzle. Clean dark eyes, but a little large. Very out of coat but what you see is what you get. Good rib cage, well off for bone, good pigmentation, good tailset, moved well & straight for her handler; 3 Watmough’s Sumsai Sweet Tamzin at Tedmisty. LB (9) This was a difficult class, three nice bitches all very different in type. 1 Ellis’ Bojinghai Honeysuckle, what a lovely type, feminine head with clean dark eyes, small thick ears well placed & used to effect, flat skull, good neck, well ribbed, short coupled, moved straight back & front, tailset very good, enough bone for her size, small hocks. Liked her a lot but in the challenge she was among some excellent more mature bitches & this was not her day. I am sure her time will come & I will watch her show career with interest; 2 Clare’s Chinrosc Short N Sweet, smooth fawn who I have watched with interest from the ringside. Very nice to go over, more substance than appears visually, good mouth & pigment, clean dark eyes, flat skull, excellent ribcage, lovely coat texture & colour, steady mover straight back & front. A little long in hock for me, but well boned. Lovely feet, very nice expression. Unlucky to meet 1; 3 Brown’s Sumsai Siana at Tonlu. OB (16) 1 What a fabulous class & some good exhibits remained cardless on the day which was unfortunate, but the quality was so good. I shortlisted eight for further consideration & I then had to split hairs for some of my decisions. 1 Mette’s Dk/Nor/S/Fin/Klb/Int Ch Pei-Fang Eyecatcher, what can I say about this beautiful cream bitch, as her name suggests "Eyecatcher”? My notes in the ring say ‘WOW!’ So well balanced & of good size, excellent head which was feminine but with just enough strength, beautiful thick ears, clean dark eyes, good pigmentation for one of her colour, everything about her on the day was just right, very nice to go over & I can understand why she has so many titles, she moved around the ring as if she owned it, straight & with enough width & this is what swayed for the CC & later BOB. So mature & sure of herself. I saw she was shortlisted in the Utility Group & was so pleased to see her performance in that group, she was a credit to the Chow breed; 2 Williamson’s Ch Dejoh Dior, a favourite of mine from the ringside & one I have not judged before. She was very unlucky to meet 1 in such good form, very similar in many ways but on the smaller end of the Standard, but this did not detract. Moved well, excellent feminine head with beautiful eyes & ears. Not as attentive to her handler as I have seen before. She well deserved the RCC, wished I could have had two CC’s on the day; 3 Evans’ Ch Simcha Chucuito. PAM GODBER

Русский Кутюрье: БонТриумф Марина, да ерунда все это. Каждый раз события развиваются по одному и тому же сценарию. Такое чувство, что кому-то очень хочется замутить воду, а потом в этой мутной воде взять и чего-то выловить. Можно по-разному относиться к тебе или твоим собакам, но, посмотрев видео с Крафта, не надо быть большим специалистом в породе, чтобы понять, что Ролекс и Тиффани были лучшими. И не признавать это просто глупо. Тиффани вообще звезда (но это мое сугубо личное мнение).

Взяла бы его домой, все в нем понравилось, красивая голова, мужественная, но без преувеличения и утрированности. Его владелец настойчиво натягивала его ринговку и это несколько принижало его. Один раз поводок упал и это открыло его голову и показало его чистые темные глаза. Мощная, но не утрированная морда, толстые, хорошего постава уши, плоский череп, хорошо наполненная морда, хорошего постава шея, которую он выгодно использует, отличный постав хвоста, превосходный костяк, как показывает себя в стойке и в движении, двигается настолько хорошо, что это удовольствие - наблюдать за ним. СС и очень близко к ЛПП, но моя сука-победитель СС была более зрелой. Но он был очень близок. Bon Triumph Tiffany Вековищевой - с ней что видишь, то и есть. Очень раздета, но мне понравился ее тип и строение. Очень хороша в деталях и превосходна со многих точек зрения и в частности ее восхитительная голова, достаточно мощная, но без излишества, чистые темные глаза, хорошая пигментация, великолепная длина шеи, более заметная из-за недостатка шерсти, хороший костяк, правильный постав хвоста, очень хорошо двигается вперед и назад, Пожелаю ей полностью одеться.

Иметь квалификацию это не значит победить. И я поздравляю Марину именно с победой! А дисквалифицируют собаку или нет, этот вопрос не в моей компетенции. Хотя я уверена, что вы приложите к этому все усилия.

Конечно, если уж наши такие "неквалифицированные" собаки побеждают самых титулованных собак, это все равно победа Да, да именно НАШИ Российские, не питомника Бон Триумф, а НАШИ! Потому что и Ролик, и Тиффани для меня не абстрактные собаки, а очень даже близкие, я их видела не раз со щенячьего возраста, я ими восхищалась, я за них переживала, поэтому они тоже к некоторой мере МОИ!

Сразу хочу сказать, что своего имени не скрываю, хотя оно участникам форума мало о чем скажет, т.к. я совершенно не имею никакого отношение к прекрасной породе чау-чау, хотя в кинологии уже более 15 лет. На Крафт езжу с 2010 года, там и познакомилась с Мариной – всегда приятно порадоваться за братьев-славян, покоряющих Соединенное Королевство :) Зашла на данный форум исключительно с целью поделиться своим опытом и не более того, т.к. в 2009 году лично у меня ушло немало времени, чтобы докопаться до истины и узнать обо всех моментах участия «заморских» собак. Зная это, в этот раз Марина обратилась ко мне за дополнительными разъяснениями относительно участия и я с радостью поделилась с ней своим опытом и информацией из кеннел клаба. Повторюсь, я абсолютно не заангажированный в вашей породе человек, а если был опыт, чего бы им и с вами не поделиться :) Итак, собралась у нас компания товарищей с собаками, которых мы очень хотели показать на Крафте. Среди них были: Интерчемпион (вопросы по его участию отпадают), неподтвержденный Интерчемпион и щенок. Вот по двум последним и терзали нас сомнения, т.к. если говорить о не подтвержденном интере, то возможны сложности, а вот как быть щенком? With best regards, Yaroslava =================================================================== Естественно, изучив информацию по линку и изучив все правила DEFRA, я вернулась в кеннел-клуб, но уже со звонком (к той же Черил), чтобы перепроверить мое предположение о том, что главное для участия в выставках, включая Крафт, в UK – это получение АТС номера. И правильно ли я поняла, что могу привезти именно на Крафт даже щенка. Ответ был по-английски вежлив и сух: «получите АТС и вэлкам ту Крафт». И тут снова вернемся к ссылке http://www.crufts.org.uk/crufts-2013-qualification, где есть интересные положения, а именно (п.3): NOTES ON QUALIFICATIONS 1. A Breed Class is a class confined to one breed. 2. Awards as above qualify a dog for entry at Crufts 2013 only if the class in which the award was gained was not made ‘Special’ in any way, i.e. by age, colour, height, weight, coat, to members of a society, to breeders etc. An exception is made only in the case of prize winners in Special Puppy, Special Junior and Veteran at Crufts 2012. Wins in sweepstake classes do not qualify, nor do wins in any classes other than those stated above. 3. Only dogs of 8 calendar months of age or over on 7th March 2013 will be eligible for entry at Crufts 2013 unless a Kennel Club Stud Book qualification has been obtained. – только собаки, достигшие возраста 8 месяцев и более на 7 марта 2013 допускаются к участию, если они получили квалификацию в племенной книге кеннел клаба (прим. чем и является АТС). 4. In any class scheduled at Crufts 2013 for which an age limit appears in the definition the age is calculated to the 7th March 2013. 5. No entries will be accepted ‘Not for Competition’. Все мои гипотезы я тут же проверяла телефонными звонками в кеннел клаб, поэтому, к великому сожалению, не могу предоставить какие-либо достоверные доказательства. Как результат, не только мои друзья доехали до Крафта, но и в последующие годы я помогала другим добраться до величайшей выставки мира (имхо – это я про Крафт :)). Конечно же, многие крутили мне пальцем у виска, услышав, что все намного проще, чем казалось (приходилось даже европейцам объяснять), но для всех поездка и участие заканчивались успешно и без проблем. Все, написанное выше, я бы не хотела, чтобы вы рассматривали, как предмет для дискуссии. Еще раз повторюсь – это МОЙ ЛИЧНЫЙ ОПЫТ, которым я любезно поделилась с Мариной и теперь с вами. Ирина Малеева: Маринк, самая главная победа-это такое описание твоих собак от уважаемого заводчика и эксперта. Кто Чикова и Елютина вместе взятые по сравнению с экспертом? Кто они, да никто! И что им остается еще делать если в ринге они не могут достойно соперничать твоим собакам. Ну они показали уже всем заводчикам и владельцам , насколько могут быть злобными и завистливыми, им только и остается отгавкиваться своими писульками. Посмотри, разве их кто то поддержал?? Я знаю в других породах ехали также собаки без квалификации и юниоры и щенки, и выигрывали, но что то как то не слышно истошных воплей завистников как же так, ах ах, нас обманули, срочно на костер и сжечь
